CuspAI raises $450 million
CuspAI raises $450 million from Kleiner Perkins and NEA (co-leads), with participation from Bezos Expeditions, Glade Brook Capital Partners, Lux Capital, AMD Ventures, Tru Arrow Partners, StepStone, Britain's Sovereign AI Venture Fund, Invest-NL, John Doerr and existing investors such as Temasek and Prosus and Northzone.
CuspAI develops AI systems for discovering new materials. The platform functions as a search engine for new molecules and materials. Customers can input desired properties, after which the system generates new material designs. The technology is applied in semiconductors, energy, water purification, and climate solutions. The company combines generative AI with physical and chemical simulations. As a result, development cycles are reduced from years to months.
With the investment, CuspAI is launching the AI Materials Foundry. This is a global network of more than 45 partners, including Nvidia, Meta, and Samsung. The funds will be used for additional computing power, laboratories, and the expansion of research teams. Additionally, it supports the growth of operations in Europe, the United States, and Asia-Pacific.
