CuspAI raises $400 million
CuspAI raises $400 million from Bezos Expeditions and Kleiner Perkins.
The British/Dutch company, with Dutch CTO/co-founder and UvA professor Max Welling, was founded in 2024. CuspAI develops AI technology for discovering new materials. The platform uses generative AI and simulations to predict material properties. This significantly accelerates research that normally takes years. The technology has applications in semiconductors, energy, and industry. Customers use it for innovation in chips and batteries, among other things. The solution reduces the cost and time of R&D processes. CuspAI positions itself as a “search engine for materials.” The technology combines data, physics, and AI models.
The capital raised will be used to expand compute infrastructure. Additionally, it will go towards scaling up research teams and commercialization.
