Innovation Credit
The Innovation Credit is an innovation loan for financing excellent innovation projects by SMEs. Due to the high risk profile of the innovation, financing by the company or by external investors is difficult. The credit was established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. RVO.nl (Ministry of Economic Affairs agency) assesses the applications.
The Innovation Credit is intended for SMEs that wish to carry out an innovative and high-risk innovation project but lack sufficient financial resources. The government contributes up to a maximum of 50% of the costs in the form of an interest-bearing loan.
Conditions for using the innovation credit
Do you have a high-risk, groundbreaking, and innovative development project? If the project costs over a period of 1 to 2 years exceed €400,000, the innovation credit might be of interest to you. Please contact us to assess whether the innovation credit is right for you.

Risk-bearing credit
The government co-finances risky innovation projects that you cannot finance yourself and usually cannot secure (fully) from banks or investors. The government co-finances a maximum of 50% of the costs. You must therefore finance the remainder yourself or have it financed by third parties. The government does not require a personal surety or guarantee from the entrepreneur.
Applying for the innovation credit
